I'm using a "cheapo" case that needs an 80mm fan added to the front badly. Problem is that no plastic fan holder came with the case. I've searched everywhere (newegg, mwave, ebay, local shops & computer show) and can't find anyone that sells the plastic holders seperately.
Before I break out the dremel & drill, can anyone tell me where I might find this holder?

Hi homie27,
Are there air holes drilled in the front already? The plastic fan cage does need to have four square holes to clamp on to the front.

Check the local computer shops again for "garbage" cases. They almost always have one that is beat up or too old to bother with.

Dr. Z, the case has the round air holes & square clamp holes already there. Just missing the fan cage.

I don't know where to find them. I Dremeled out a circle for the fan and 4 holes for the screws to hold the fan - no plastic holder!
Did the same thing for the rear exhaust fan...
Good Luck,

Hi homie27,
Finding an exact match for your case might be pretty hard as those plastic fan holders fon't follow a standard design. You'd have to find a shop that sells the same case brand as yours and hope they have loose holders lying around.
I guess you could always use duct tape to hold the plastic holder (that doesn't match up with your case) to the sheet metal...or tape the fan itself to the sheet metal.
I'd do the Dremel thing.

Have you held a fan up to it to see if the cutouts match up to the holes in the fan?
You dont need a plastic holder, the fan can be attached with out it.
Just remove the front cover and see if you can't screw it in.
