I'm trying to set up a bulletin board on my website where people can post and reply to messages (like pcmech, but without logging in--although logging in is ok.) But I don't want it to be on someone elses site, does anyone know of any free CGI scripts or something, that would do this?

Thanks in advance,

Hi Seth,

http://directory.google.com/Top/Computers/Bulletin_Board_Systems/Software/

I like OpenBB and PhpBB since they both use PHP. There are plenty of other PHP, CGI/PERL ones available for free as well. Hope that helps.

You're not going to find that many that don't require logging in. You want people to login so that you can control the idiots and spammers.

Thanks guys. I'll try those. I'm not sure if my hosting service allows PHP or not. I know it's unix so I'd expect it to, but who knows I may have to pay more for it.

Thanks.

Probably won't have to pay for it. PHP is open-source and is loaded on most host's servers.

Try here (http://www.hotscripts.com/PHP/Scripts_and_Programs/Discussion_Boards/) for a bunch of PHP boards. Most require a db but some do not.

www.your-site.com is my hosting provider. I just dont' want to spend any more money than I already am. I'm cheap.

Thanks,
