Games want play??

My grandson got 3 games for Christmas. One game works fine. One installed
but opens up to a dark gray screen with the game curser and want do nothing else and has no sound. This is a Cabela's hunting game. The last one just said in a dropdown: "Game initialization error". "Exiting TDOR" which is a off road game. The system is a 64 MB Ram, 500mhz AMD and 8mb onboard video. They have been installed on another PC with almost the same spec's and works fine. Any idea's??

you may have a cdrom having trouble reading the disc if the cd's do function in another machine. game cd's with their copy protections may be a problem for the cdrom. without any better advice here, i would try another brand cdrom if you can get your hands on one and swap to test this idea.
