Excel 2000, cell contents bar disappeareth

Hi there,

On a comp here in the office someone was working with Ecxcel 2000. Suddenly the cell contents bar (see attached picture <Excel-screen.gif> 8 kB )disappeared. We were unable to figure out how to recover it. How can this be done?

In the toobars menu, the "update" toolbar can't be checked; it's somehow disabled. :(

Any help is highly appreciated. Thanx

Hey Felix can you explain this a bit better as I just compare my excel to your picture - it looks similar - place a RED or GREEN cxolor on it and post back.. Don't get the point..????

Ah I just forgt... The tool bar marked with a red rectangle has disappeared. I want it back. (The screen shot was taken from another system.)
