Anyone ever try to do this in 98se ? I need to ppick up some speed really bad..dsl is out of the question..isdn is cost prohibitive I feel..I don't like the deals on satellite..they use usb modems anyway(or so I read)which is a no go with linux...so..this looks like my only opp.
Thank you all for your time.

you are at the mercy of your ISP, it also depends how far you are from the telephone company switching station and how far you are from your ISP

Bonding, known as multilinking, requires 2 modems and 2 phone lines and a multilink account from ISP. A snap to set up, preferably using an external and internal modem, although I've used 2 externals. Last I heard was 2 Lucent's don't work, though I'm sure there are exceptions. Expect an increase in speed. :)

Thanks all for the time to reply..To clarify a few things..I meant the modem bonding was my only immediate hope for a decent increase in speed,as I'm not within the 3 mile-ish limit for dsl..
I'm hip to the 2 line,2 modem deal...thanx again ya'll. Hava great wknd :-)
