Can anyone tell me what these command lines do, along with the switches on it ?

SET DOS16M=2

device=C:\windows\himem.sys /M:1 /v

The first one would be in autoexec, the second in config.sys.

They're used as overclocking tweaks, but I have no clue what they do and I'd like to know what they do, before I attempt to use them. :) I already have the himem.sys line, but not with the switches.

Thanks

System settings in the Autoexec.bat file

NOTE: Skip steps 1 and 2 if the System Configuration Editor is already open.

1. Click Start, and then click Run.
2. Type sysedit and then click OK. The System Configuration Editor opens.
3. Click the Window menu and then click Autoexec.bat
4. Check for, and if necessary, add the following line:
SET DOS16M=2

This line should be added as the first line before any other lines in the Autoexec.bat file. Its function is to extend memory in DOS for strings of information over 64 characters in length.

5. Close the Autoexec.bat file and save the changes.
