When I go in the Device Manager in the system Properties of Windows 98se, under Modem, it shows me three things, and I only have ONE modem:

-Aopen fm56-p speakerphone 56k pci modem (that's my modem, so that's ok)
-Parallel cable on LPT1
-Serial Cable on COM1

I don't understand why these two things are in there... I have absolutely no problem whatsoever, but I find that weird, since the Parallel cable and the Serial cable are no modem... explanations?

Thanks!

I think it does that if you have Direct Cable Connection installed. Nothing to worry about. Not sure about why it is listed under Modems, but in a way, I guess the serial and parallel connections would be "communications devices" if you were using them for direct connections.
