ok, I picked up the game yesterday, and I've gotten to the point on d-day where Im under the big pillbox thingy, and I have to run arcoss, and get to the trench...but I cant get there..Does anyone know a good strategy of how to run across that minefield and survive??

Howdy,
Don't run through the mine field.
I take it you got the "bangalores" and the wire fence was blown.
At that point, you would run upto the pill box thingy and be awaiting the go ahead. After 2 other fellas dash out and get toasted, you are to run to the next crater and "snipe" the machine gun nest on your upper right.
What you need to do is "snipe" the nest and then dash to your right and back a bit to jump into a "slip trench". Stay low by crouching as you are being targeted.
Keep low, and work along the trench. You'll come up on a GI that suggests you wait. At this point, the rest of your squad arrive and hopefully thre medic.
If you can get healed (or need it) do so now.
Now, you have to ease around the first the GI VERY CAREFULLY and "snipe" another machine gunner.
(PS, the "difficult" missions are coming! :D)
Isn't that a fantasic game?
EXACTLY what I was hoping for from RTCW but failed miserabliy.
I can't wait for a "War in the Pacific" variant or mission add-ons.

yeah, it is, I've been waiting for this kind of game for sooo long.
Ill try that...I have gotten that rifle before, but was I was killed when sniping them. How much life did you have when you got to the pillbox?? I only had 34...cause I had 83 when I reached the first medic....and I got shot up a little while advancing...and then after the bangalors.. after the barbed wire was taken out I was at 64, and got hit hard....but I survived....Im glad to be where I am, because It took me sooo long just to get there, I had basicly developed a good strategy from hoping from one barrier to the next...

Howdy,
Hoping from barrier to barrier isn't strategy, its life!
The way I did it....
Jump out of the boat, stay low, runn like hell.
There is a medic almost straight ahead, stop for a quick cure.
Hop from barrier to barrier to your way point.
Go down the line, staying low and grab the bangalores.
Do nothing, stay low until the fence blows.
Run like hell to the side of the pillbox where the rest of your group is, wait till the others go and you get the go ahead. Dash to the first crater, stay low.
Using your sniper rifle scope, edge up slowly until you see the machine gunner.
Zap him and wait for 2 others to zap. After the third, run to the slit trench and stay VERY low as you are in the sight of 3 machine gunners.
Creep along the trench staying low UNTIL you meet the GI, do not as yet advance.
Wait until the rest of your team arrives and then, very slowly, edge around to see the machine gunner and zap him.
(I managed to stay out of the line of fire of the above machine gunners using this method. However, when I tried this on the max skill level (owie!) I had to make several attempts. On the max skill level, I was killed before getting out of the boat 4 times before I reached the beach. 4 more times to reach the pill box and twice more to get into the trench.
Wanna see how brief life can be? Try the max skill level!
Remember, you can always go back into the briefing room to replay any mission by clicking on the mission on the map.
I think I'm on the last mission and its a real bear.
My best percentage in accuracy was 82%.
Use the "tommy" gun in short bursts of about 3 shots.
Use your "reload" key before you go tripping into anyplace new.
I found the best set-up the best for me:
LMB (left mouse button) fire
RMB forward
"R" for reload
"Z" for backwards
"C" for crouch
In many missions you have to "sneak" otherwise you confront many foe.
The left shift depressed allows you to be silent but slows you somewhat.
If you can see someone in your scope, pop him.
Conserve ammo and remember when you start your next mission, your health and ammo stats remain the same.
A fantastic game.....

I tried finding that trench.....it seems likes guys keep on maning those machine guns....so after the 3rd one..I should run to this trench? there are 2 machine gun emplacements....do I jsut take out the one farthest away from me??
the thing that messes me up the most is like when im sniping someone, and here comes this german shepard that attacks me, and takes off a big chunck of my life before I can put it down.
I have it on normal difficulty setting for now..and its still giving me a challenge...

whew...Ive been at this for a while..... I cant seem to find this trench....
i still have more questions
1) how many people made it with you to the pill box?
2) how much life did you have when you reached the pillbox
3)do you run right up against the cliff, or out i the field with barbed wire and mines?
4) what exactly does tis trench look like?? is it that one is the far distance, when you are looking down the side of the beach?

Don't Cheat!!! Be a man!
Howdy again,
I didn't have allot of trouble with this level. It still sound like you went the wrong way to me.
Try this:
When you run from the landing craft, keep pretty much straight ahead.
As you run, you will happen accross a medic. Stop for a heal and then hop from barrier to barrier until you get to your way point. Here, you will be ordered to locate a captain for further orders to locate the bangalores. They are to the left of your way point and slightly behind. Return along the line and someone uses these bangalores and blows the fence. After the fence blows, run to the pillbox where your team mates are. (almost straight ahead)
Here, WAIT until 2 others go ahead of you and you are told to "hop from crater to crater" to the slit trench.
At the first crater, snipe the machine gunner, upper right, not the ones in the conrete but next to it. The gunners are replaced fairly quickly so you have to run as soon as you pop a gunner. Move quickly to the slit trench (concrete trench) on your extreme right and slightly behind you. STAY LOW as you "WILL" take a few hits. Keep low in the trench and move quickly until you meet up with a GI.
I retried this a few times and NEVER saw any "mutts" (dogs) so this suggests you went another route. Later in the game, the "mutts" are a REAL pain and plentyful. Watch out for these things, they hurt.
I found the tommy gun to be the most useful when used in bursts of three.
Your "sniper" rifle also has a "secondary" attack. I used the "S" key for secondary attack. The secondary attack for the sniper rifle is a "scope" which is mandatory in many levels.

I just got my hands on the copy of the game not long ago myself. Love it. Played the first mission on easy difficulty, but thought it was pretty lame. enemies that took 1/20th the damage to die as I take... big square buildings...worthless grenades. Then I switched onto hard difficulty level and got into the city missions. Unbelievable! Driving the King Tiger and taking out everything in sight. Great!
Wait, don't stop reading yet, this post actually has a point. Well, a question rather. After playing through the game once, I'm missing one medal. I think the one that I am missing is down in the lower right corner of the medal box. I could be mistaken as I'm trying to remember. I'll have to check. But does anyone know which one I might be missing?

I think I got it now. I was talking about the dogs, in the otehr mission about how they tick me off. I poped both machine gun nests 3 times, then hauled as* to the bunker...I styaed low, and didnt get shot once...then when I got to the dude pinned down there, I was throwing grenades, and I missed it bounced back and killed me. I guess I got the hang of it now......

ugh...IM getting really po'ed at this game. I can get the rifle, get to the hole, to the right of the first one(closest to the trenches) then I cant get in the trenches...I keep on hitting those mines that are out there. Ive tried many different angles even tried to jump them, but nothing worked. I only had 34 health going into this leg of the mission, but is hat enough?? Cause nothing is working, Ive been playing this for a good clean 5 hours now, and its starting to tick me off.

Howdy,
I think I know what your doing.
I tried the level several times and discovered where you might be having trouble.
Don't give up yet! You arn't at the difficult levels yet!
I just finnished the game and the mission group 2nd to the last was my big hang-up.
Ok, back to your mission.
Lets be sure we be on the same mission. You just got off the board on the "operation overlord" D-Day mission, yes?
You made it to the side of the bunker after you got the bangalores, yes?
You jumped into the first crater immediately to the right and slightly behind of the bunker.
Pop the machine gunners. Pop the guy on the left first and then the guy on the right quickly. Dash for the next crater directly ahead, slightly to the right.
Stay low, the only machine gunner that can draw a bead on ya is the one high and to the right. Pop this one, stay close to the embankment, running to the bunker on the right. Stop, do not run too far. With your sniper rifle and scope, pop the machine gunner that wants to plug you. He dies, you run behind you, quickly to the slit trench. Once there, dash upto the waiting GI. I did this on 34% health so you shouldn't be having a problem.
The medal in the lower right is the medal given when you complete the entire game. Bronze star for EZ skill.

I'm on the medium skill level...was that a mistake??
yes Im at the point after the bangalores.... I know what yo are tlking baout, but I keep on hitting mines.....cause one time i got lucky...gotdown there and was waiting for some men to come when I met the gi. So i got bored and threw a grenade at the nest that was firing at me, it bounced back down where I was and I go killed. Should I trythis on easy first?? I jsut didnt want to be the game too fast. Ive spent alot of time on this, i dont wanna restart on easy unless have to....

I already completed the game on medium and I'm onto mission 4 on hard, but I still don't have the medal that goes in the extreme lower right. I do have a silver star next to it, but thats it. Maybe if I go back and beat it on easy I'll just get the bronze star? Do you have anything in the slot immedietly to the left of your bronze one? Thanks
