Windows 98 Shutdown Problem.

howdi all, when i try to shutdown windows 98 Beta Version it says shutting down but stays on that forever and doesnt shutdown, this happen sometimes, othertimes its fine

help please

Beta version? If you're running Norton Anti-Virus, try closing it before shutdown and see if it helps. Since this is inconsistent, you'll have to tinker around and experiment. Meanwhile:

visit microsoft.com, select support and Win98 control center, or search for Q202633

Yes by all means check the setting of Norton, if you have it set where it will check floppies it will stop the shutdown waiting for a floppy. If that doen't work use, Ctrl-Alt-Del and then shutdown running tasks one at a time, selecting shutdown each time. Just remember Explorer has to be running, so do not shut it down.
