I have a cable modem and use a Linksys router to share my Internet connection among a couple a PCs and Unix boxes in my home network. My ISP assigns IPs via DHCP. I was wondering if the NAT feature in the router provides sufficient security from hackers or should I consider an actual firewall to protect my network?

The router is a firewall, but you may want to consider adding something like ZoneAlarm or Outpost to filter outgoing and e-mail attachments.
