View Full Version : IE address bar
Ever since I upgraded to another motherboard, P4 cpu and pc2100 ddram, I have been experiencing problems with Internet Explorer. The biggest problem is the address bar. When I try to scroll down through the addresses I've previously visited, the animated cursor for "working" appears and the only way to stop it is control/alt./delete...I have no idea what caused this nor do I have a clue how to fix it. I tried restoring IE from add/remove programs with no luck. Even tried reinstalling IE6 from MS site. Any ideas?

Hi Dan,
When you upgraded your system, did you re-use your hard drive and did it have a previous install of Windows on it? Or did you do a fresh installation of Windows?
Have you tried clearing out the Temporary Internet Files and clearing out the History log?
How many background applications do you have running? Maybe a background program is interferring with IE.

thanks Cricket,
yes - I reused my old hard drive with windows already installed on it.
before the upgrade I cleared everything temporary like the IE history and temp files...
I try to have as little as possible running in the background, and don't let anything run automatically, even antivirus....
I didn't really change much when I upgraded. I guess this is why I am puzzled...
