I recently finished putting together the first computer I've built by myself. I decided to give something other than Windows a try for an OS, with windows running as an alternate OS. I realized that I can't fit both on, and now I've got to get rid of Linux so that I can play my fav. games on my new pc. (Until the next PC show, I only have a 1.2G HDD). Any help on removing Linux? MS-DOS can't format that part of the drive, b/c it doesn't recognize what's over there.. ????

Run FDISK and delete all NON-DOS partitions, then repartition your drive, reboot, format.

If it ain't broke, you're not pushing hard enough!

Hey try linuxgames.com maybe you can find info on running your favorite game using WINE. Just a thought. As soon as I figure out a couple more things I'm going to try to use WINE for Starcraft.

Here's how I would do it. As root, do these steps:
1. Go to your root directory.
2. Unmount any Windows filesystems that you have mounted.
3. If you use LILO, enter the command "lilo -u"
4. Now go to the root directory and enter: "rm -rf *"
No more Linux, without having to resort to Microsoft's tools.

Oh....I forgot. Don't do this unless all your removable media is out of their drive and all Windows filesystems are not mounted.

Well, I don't guess this is the preferred way, but to get rid of Red Hat 6.1 to give my FastTrak66 card a try (no linux driver for it), I just restored my original boot image before the partition, then let Scan Disk see the 6 gigs of the Linux partition as an error, and wipe it.
That scan disk took about 9 hours, but it worked http://www.pcmech.com/ubb/wink.gif.
