Hi,

Simple answer, you need a router with a built-in switch. Take a look at Linksys and Netgear, they're the best.

I would also recommend the Dlink DI-704P router. It has a built in print server which allows you use your printer from either computer, without the need to keep 1 computer on at all times.

Newegg carries it for $79 w/ shipping... Dlink currently has a $20 mail in rebate, which brings the price down to $59.

I would add a vote for SMC barricade 7004. Keep in mind that a router also offers some hardware firewall protection. I just did a shield and port test from www.grc.com on both my WIN98 and XP PC's and both passed with flying colors.
