Confused

Thinking about bidding on a Supra Express modem at E-bay. As my name implies I'm confused, Several offered for sale. Some say 56i PC, others say 56K V90 and different varations. I figured they were all the same, but there is a wide varience in bids for different ones. Anyone able to shed any light on this?

First of all, look for US specs only. You want a Supra Express 56i internal ISA or a Supra Express 56e external serial. Avoid the USB model and the Mac models.

Thanks GLC. Yes I definetly want internal. My desk is cluttered enough now. I'm trying to figure out how to put a scanner here, so I don't need another box taking up space. I've got a mini-tower AT form factor that was given to me. Bidding on a SOYO 5EHM and if I get it, then I'll start bidding to acquire everthing else.

Get the model 2720 or 2730. (Internal ISA and external respectively).
All others are the Max, USB, or PCI winmodem varieties, and you don't want.

Heh, same board as me. I got my Soyo 5EHM from E-Bay as well. It's a great board, I've had zero problems with it, other than some com issues that turned out to be bad cables.

And yeah, I was a die hard USR fan until I got a Supra ISA. Best modems made in my opinion.

Yes, the Supra Express ISA is the one you want.
It'll have jumpers, and 2 big chips (sometimes you get a pic on ebay).
If you really want to save, get one that needs the flash upgrade, it's available on the Diamond website, and is easy to do.
BTW, $58 is a great deal! Diamond was selling them directly for $69.

Thanks Reboot. If it's that easy I might go for one that needs the upgrade, if I don't get one of the others.

Thanks for replies. Reboot none offered specifically state model #. I'm only looking at Supra Express internal ISA. Several for whatever reason (old stock I guess) don't have the V90 standard, although sellers state they can be upgraded, I've discounted them. Others have V90 standard and some have V/MC OK. Am I right in assuming that if I get Supra Express 56K internal ISA V90, I will be OK?
Thanks Chas

Just for comparison purposes in your bidding, I just bought 2 of these from buy.com for $58 each. Buy.com has very low (sometimes free) shipping also. The modems and 4 other items were $6 shipping.

Thanks WJ, I'll check out. But back to my question, If ad doesn't state model #, will I be Ok with Supra Express 56K internal ISA V90?
Thanks Chas
