I just got an offer from them for the same camera for free if I sign up with them for a minimum of three months at $19.95. Maybe you could open a new account? It is cheaper, and you would still have the ISP. I would love to do it, but I don't have a credit card and they say you HAVE to have one to take advantage of the offer.

the camera works great, but make sure that you specify usb model and not the paralle one.

Jenni, If I get the camera, I will than look around for another ISP. Any connection problems just has to be my settings and/or modem, according to them.

Hey Carl,
I looked at the ad and am not too impressed. I do have a couple for you to look at over at www.egghead.com (http://www.egghead.com) (auction side). They also sell them outright as a Super Deal. One is the Relisys Dimera DC3500 and it sells for $99, I had one and sent it to my son in Maine to send me back pictures of the grandbabies. It does a superb job for only 600X400 resolution and you can buy extra memory cards if you ever want to as it uses compact flash cards. The other that I've seen some good reviews of and it's USB downloadable is the Ezonics USB EZDual cam which can double as hand held or used as a net cam and it sells for $125. Check'em out, you may like them.

Thats ok Bailey, I should have been clearer. I've been spoiled by being able to use a Sony Mavica FD-81 for awhile. The owner wants it back. For now, I may take pictures with a regular camera and pay extra to have them put on a CD. Its an option when I have them developed. Carlgif

If you should become finacially overwhelmed take a look at the Olympus D-400Z, D-450Z or the newer D-460Z. I got the D-400Z and it does a super job. I have about $600 in the camera, an AC adapter, an extra 32 meg memory card, a USB card reader (which is much faster downloading and eliminates the need for an AC adapter) and two sets of four rechargable AA batteries. I am now wishing for the new Olympus 3030 which goes at about a smooth $grand.

Smoke24, My mouth is watering, but my wallet is dry. The Olympus c3030 sounds great. I read the review at Winmag and it looks like it would be THE camera to have.
Bailey, The pc camera is a gift if you sign up for earthlink and since I'm already with them the ad doesn't apply, but on my start page they offer bargains and such. The digital camera was one of them.

Get a flatbed scanner for the same price if you don’t have one. You will get better quality digital photos than with a cheap digital camera and you can also digitalize and refurbish all your old photos.

A flatbed scanner may be worth considering Slipe. I'd have to use the USB connection for it as my modem is using the serial port. Thanks for the suggestion.

USB is the way to go with a scanner anyway. The last serial port scanner I saw was a little Visioneer Paperport sheetfed scanner. You must be thinking of a parallel port scanner. I do not like those - parallel ports are for *printers*.
