Hello,
I have a 3 computer workgroup set up at my house. Two computers are windows 2000 pro and one is win 98. I can see the win 2000 computers from my win 98 computer, but I cant see the win 98 from my win 2000 computers. Could anyone please tell me what to do so I will be able to see my win 98 computer from my win 2000 computers? I have 3com 10/100 (3c905b-tx) NICs. Thank you for your help,
Bigron

I always forget how the NTFS, FAT32 file system work, but one can see one and one can't the other. How do you have your drives set up?

Well,

I just did a search and this is what I found so it might not be your problem.

I think FAT32 can't see an NTFS partition, but NTFS can see FAT32. HTH

The NTFS and FAT partitions are not relevant when it comes to drive sharing.

I assume you can ping the win98 machine and verified you have a good connection to all 3 machines?

If it's a yes, make sure you have file sharing turned on in the win98 network settings. Then check to make sure you have joined the same workgroup, I don't believe the workgroup name is case sensative but make sure it matches exactly.

I'll bet that if you do a search from one of the WIN2k machines for the 98 machine, it will show up. Search by the computer name, when it shows up just map a drive to the c: drive. Good luck.:)
