Hey all, don't post much in this section. I am in the market for a non-win modem, that is very good. I have friend I built a system for, and he had a Boca winstorm 56k, a winmodem. Since it was installed, and I mean minute's afterward, when the computer is shut down, and reboot's, it run's scandisk, and say's the computer was not shut down properly. If fast shut down is disabled it is fine, but it DID NOT do this before the modem was installed, thereby leading me to believe it is a big piece of crap. So any suggestion's on a good non- winmodem? TIA.
Diamond Supra Express, either internal ISA or external serial.
Amen. Even my USR externals ended up for sale on Ebay after I got a Supra Express.
Either the External Serial or the ISA model will do you nicely.

Ok, Diamond supra express, so why ISA? Just wondering, in the age of disappearing ISA sockets, why one would use an ISA modem? Configuration difference's maybe? for IRQ?
