View Full Version : ps2 port
Thats what I was not sure of and which wire should be the power wire. The computer shop owner where I bought the PS2 port was not sure of the pin-out. I will not connect it until I am completely sure of the configuration.
I am trying to install a PS2 port on my motherboard. The pin configuration on the MB is: 1 Mouse Clk 2 Ground 3 Blank 4 Mouse Data 5,6,7 N/C 8 +5V.
I have a connector that is configured the same way on the plug in block. What I am not sure of is the that the wires going to the port are in the correct position. The block connector has a blue wire going from the #1 connection to the 7 o'clock positon on the PS2 connector, when you look at the connector from the front. It has a green wire going from the #2 position to the 9 o'clock position. It has a red wire from the #4 position to the 12 o'clock position. It has a yellow wire going from the #8 position to the 3 o'clock position.

Dear Reader,
If I am not mistaken the red wire is pin one. But don't put the power on until "certain".
That's It!
Sincerely,

Your motherboard manual should have the pinouts.
I have found the information on the configuration of the PS2 port. Thanks for all your help!
