PC cam Problem [Archive]

Update on my pc camera problems , originally could'nt get camera to come on at all . Finally after replacing Drivers some features work Like snapshot but I have to manually turn camera on. Scene recorder comes on like it should but video e-mail refuses to come on at all. error message comes on and says capture device not working and maybe something else is using it and to turn it off. What else could be using it? it is USB and as far as I know nothing else is activated.

Hello,

What brand and model of webcam are you having?
Also have you tried uninstalling the webcam driver and reinstalling back?

I have an Intel pc pro camera model cs430. I reinstalled all the drivers, that is how I got it to mostly work. but when I try to get it to turn on to do an video e-mail, Nada. I can't even manually turn on (ie: right clicking on screen ). seems like a bit of software is missing but I don't know where to look to find.Install CD-rom is available but was no help in the past.
