Anyone hear ever work on computer monitors? Anyone know of a good troubleshooting guide for monitors? I know that everyone says that if your monitor is bad, just toss it and get a new one, it will be cheaper, it's not worth it. Well i've came into a few monitors(4) that are dim. The brightness is up all the way but it's still dim. Any suggestions besides toss'em?

Usually, we recommend that unless you really know what you are doing around electronics - specifically being monitors or televisions you should not attempt to work on the internals of a monitor. This is due to the very high current stored in the caps.

Sounds possibly like a bad tube and it would be cheaper to buy a new monitor than to get it fixed.
