I saw a thread thea few weeks ago reccommending the German Program ANTS Trojan Scanner to find out is a system has a Trojan Horse installed. Well Ants is in fact a Trojan Horse. A much better Trojan scanner is Swat It and it is a free download.

Its amazing what some people will do to mess up your PC. Hey Morris, what Anitvrus prog. do you use? I mean besides this one?
I have always used The Cleaner from moosoft.com to scan for Trojans.

I am presently using Norton 2001, but I recently purchase a copy of Norton System works 2002 for $19.99 out of pocket. When my 2001 subscription runs out I will install 2002. I like Norton as it does not cause other problems and they keep updates coming for the 365 day subscription that comes with the product.
In addition to the Anti - virus, I also use Adaware to kill spyware, Swat-It to scan every once-in-a-while for Trojans, and a program called Spycop to scan every once in a while for Keystroke Loggers. And to top it off, I am behind a router and a software firewall. And for the final part of the security chain, I have Windows Washer that I run at every log off.
That is the software/hardware part of my security. A standard practice, I check weekly for Windows Critical Updates (But I do not use the auto updater) and I set my firewall to only let Norton and IE6 automatically connect to the Internet. All other programs are set to prompt and if I allow them to connect it is manually allowed only if it needs to.

That's good security. I downloaded ad aware about a month ago, seems like a good program, but I never used Spycop. Does spycop scan for things that adaware won't detect?

SpyCop is looking for the tell tale signs of a keystroke logger and many of the latest virus infections have been to get a logger on your computer then auto mail at a pre-determined date back to the sender. And by the way, the company that developed it has said that they will not give into the FBI and their MagicLantern Program (Which is supposed to be a Keystroke Logger) and exclude it's detection. That alone made me want to buy this program and support the company as there is already enough invasion of your computer without they involvment of the Federal Gov.
