How do I set the sharing permissions on Win 2000 so that people on the same network running Win 98 can view my folders?
Thanks

Not intimately familiar with Win2000 but it's based on NT so I think it's pretty much the same.
* Create an account on the Win2000 machine for each of the users on Win98 machines that you want to share the folders. The account name must match exactly (spelling) the name used on Win98. Password should also be the same as on the Win98 machine.
* Select the folders to be shared, right-click and choose "Sharing ..."
* Set the radio button to permit sharing. If you are permitting equal access to all users, you are done once you click OK. Remember to check the box to apply the permission to sub-folders, if that is what you want.
* If you want to restrict access methods or priviliges, use the lower portion of the sharing dialog to specify the user account and the privilige to be applied.
Hope that helps.

Thanks for your help. Is there anyway to give universal access to anyone that tries to get onto my folder?
