ahead nero cd rom burner

I am trying to copy data from my harddrive to a CD, but when I click burn the used read buffer goes straight to 31% and the writing at 12x goes to 51%. This then, does nothing for 1 min 30 secs and then comes up with an error saying SCSI/ATAPI command timeout error!

Any ideas?

Try the troubleshooting tips here: CDROM-Guide (http://www.cdrom-guide.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6832). Try the suggestions in 2, 3 and 8.
