Can anyone tell me where I can find the 25 character product key in the registry for Off 2K. I uninstalled it to do a clean install and my case is not to be found and the number I wrote on the disc keeps coming up wrong. I have it on all my PCs. How can I locate the number?
Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure if it's the same in Office 2K, but in Office 97 it is under Help > Info in every Office program.
Might be there in Office 2K as well.

Sorry, I goofed. I need to find my KEY # --a 25 char code you enter when you install:
XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX

What's in help is the ID #.

Well, then it's different in Office 2000.
When I look in Info > Help in my Word 97 there is the CD key that I enter for installing.
Sorry, can't help you.

Have you tried calling Microsoft? That might help, although I dont quite know what could be done without your product code, ie what identification they would need to be sure that its a legal copy.

Good luck with it

I don't think it's in the registry (like the OS key). My understanding is that M$ uses an algorithm to change the product key to the products ID number.
