Hey guys..

I got my new BB connection setup today (adelphia 2way cable, SB4100, Kingston NIC) and I'm already having some major problems  To cut right to the chase, It wont work! The only leds that will go (and stay) solid are the Power and Receive...|SendFlashes on and off, and the online and activity lights are nonexistant. I asked the techie what the heck was going on, and he simply replied, uhhh, you'll have to get someone else to look at it  So I bit the bullet, called Tech Support, and expressed what activity the modem was showing. He answered that the problem was all in the signal, and that an amplifier had to be added to the cable junction. Don't flame me if I'm a little off, but I thought Cable internet runs off the same amount of bandwidth, if you will, as Digital cable, and there is nothing wrong with the picture on my set top box. Anyway, can any BB techs or anyone with the knowledge comment on this? I'd really like to get off my lame dialup. Thnx for reading..

I'm on Adelphia too and installed the modem, etc, myself. At first it didn't work (status light was blinking) so I called tech support and they discovered the MAC address from the modem was not entered in their system. They put the address in and had me working in two minutes.

Just attempted to download "eAssistance" but to my surprise, it doesn't support XP.

I should also add that the brief time I was able to go online for about 2 minutes, I checked my speed at dslreports.com.. 2.5Mbit down, and 116 Kbps up..Doesn't sound like thats a bad signal

I don't know how to resolve your problem, cable provider will probably have to be involved, but I can tell you that after having cable now for 9 months that sometimes internet access will be down and TV signal is fine. Other times internet works and TV signal down. In all honesty I don't remember both down at same time.

I had a problem like this before with my cable connection. They had to change something on the BB line near my house. My modem wasn't receiving the signal because it was too low or too high (don't remember). You will need to call them and they'll probably need to go and check the line near your house.
