I have just started using AT&T service and have outlook 2000 on windows 98. Is there a way to download email and leave it in outlook without other people reading and accessing it.
the problem is we have 6 users and all use outlook. We all have passwords and all I want to do is access my account without having all the others come up when checking mail. Then I want to leave my unanswered mail in outlook without worrying about others either reading or deleting it.
Thanks

tools - accounts - create whatever you need and give passwords and the different email accounts.
You can also chose which account is the default account - perhaps whomever uses it the most.

I understand all that but what I am asking is this, is there a way to keep each account invisible to eachother? Right now I have to go thru 6 accounts and either click cancel to pass or type in passwords to download the mail.
I would like to see maybe a drop down menu with all accounts in it and select the account that is yours, type in the password and everything gets downloaded into that persons working window. This window would only be for that person owning the account. Is there such software? or can Outlook2000 do this?
I also have Outlook Express 6 would this do the trick? What program do you think is better to manage 6 accounts?
Thanks

You can setup User Profiles to where everyone logs onto the machine with their own profile/email account.

You might be best switching to outlook express 6 (just import all the mail folders) - despite being free, it is generally regarded as the more powerful mail program. Set up seperate identities (from file menu) and password protect them. Also make sure that none is selected as the default, that way each time you launch you will have a menu from which you select the required user. All settings and mail will be unique to each user and inaccessible to others.

Bowen.
