Zone Alarm (again)

I've disabled ZA on 2 pc's (from loading at startup) and they do the Internet just fine. On 1 however, disabling it prevents any surfing. I uninstalled ZA from this same pc once and couldn't surf anywhere. Luckily I still had the original install program, reinstalled it and all was well. Being behind a router makes me feel better about not having ZA, but this one pc won't surf w/o it running.

The uninstall part is one thing - I was concerned that simply disabling it from startup prevents surfing, just on 1 pc. Also, it effects NS, IE, Opera and Mozilla, including DSL and dialup.
