Seems I remember this from somewhere around here, but can't find the info. Win98 SE is installed but I get tired of pulling out the disk whenever I need to install certain things (protocols, adapters, etc.). I know (now) I should have copied all these from a DOS prompt when first loading the OS. Is it too late to do it now, and if not, what is the command so I can get this stuff residing?

Analog X makes a neat little program to point to where you have the files stored so you don't have to edit the registry.

sarge,
copy the win98 folder from the CD to your harddrive. Then do this:
Start>run
regedit
go to:
hkey local machine>software>microsoft>windows>current version>setup
highlight "setup"
go to source path, right click, then click modify
change the d to a c (may not be d, but change it to c)
click ok, then close regedit

Done, and thanks. Now if I can remember the command line to put them on initially, then run setup to install, next time I reformat I won't go thru this. 3 pc's constantly changing is a pain, searching for the cd.
