This is just a little thing I have recently read in PC Answers magazine that I think many people here will find very useful if you don’t know about it already. It’s about manual Windows Updates. I have heard from many people about how much they hate having to reinstall all the Windows updates after reformatting their PC, especially when they are using Windows XP.
Well here’s what you have to do in order to download the files for the updates in order to be able to burn them to a CD. Go to http://corporate.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp. This site is mainly aimed at network managers and corporate customers, but there’s nothing to stop you from using it. You can search for updates by operating system and by your version of Internet Explorer, as many security updates centre around Microsoft’s browser.
Well I hope this helps you all out in some form or another, because it’s great to have so many people on this forum who have helped me in the past.
