Impossible. As far as I know. Many people hate this, but I've never seen a way around it.

BTW- Welcome the PC-MECH! Maybe watch the caps though.
To disable the task scheduler, open it up and on the toolbar on top click on the advanced tab and select stop using task scheduler.
let us know if this works for you.

Well, that stops it from scheduling, but I belive it is still running and in the taskbar, just with an X through it.

dldz's suggestion does work, I do it all the time after installing Win98. It should be gone for good (not just crossed out).

Well I'll be darned... Thought that little bugger was stuck there. I'll go try it on my Mom's 98 box. ( I haven't used 98 in quite a while) Sorry if I was misleading.
Also another way that will work is go to RUN then type in 'msconfig' then click on the startup tab and deselect where it says 'scheduling agent' or task scheduler, something like that.. that will remove it from the start up list.

Thanks everyone - Dldz you were right. It's nice to be rid of it: It was just using resources and I don't like it since I don't leave my pc on all the time. Much appreciated!
Your welcome :) Glad to help
