need help on new case

just got antec 860 case. putting in a asus a7n266-e mother board in. im hooking up the little wires in the bottom right hand corner of the board."atx power switch,speaker connector,reset switch",ok now my question is the power lead wire on the case is 2 pin the one on the board calls for a 3 pin. any ideas what to do?

Hi WOLFIE44,

When you say the "power lead wire", you do mean the one from the power switch, right? Not the LED wire.

All the power switch connectors I've seen are for 2 pins. Are you sure the power pins on the motherboard is for the power switch and not the power LED?

its the power led wire. in asus manual it shows 3 pin. i have every wire hooked up. thats the last one. only 2 pin and it says power led on it. plus wire one that says reset led.

You may have a one color power on led. Not two. This will be determined by the case. That is why they use a block that can handle three wires. When some comps go to sleep, they turn(or can) the power led a diff color. It uses the same ground but a different on signal to the different colored (but still in the same diode case) diode chip. Just lets you know it is sleeping. Mind the polarity. My Gateway box turns orange instead of green when asleep. Sleepy Gateway.....

WOLFIE44, just find an old 3 wire connector and take the 2 wire connector off of the power LED, and put the 3 wire one on. If you don't have one, I'm sure I have several around and can send you one if you can live withou a pwer LED for a couple of days, lol.

The connectors come off easy enough. Just pust the wires forward and carefully raise the black plastic tabs enough to slide the connectors out the back.

Yeah, all the LED does is let you know that it is on, which it really isn't all that hard to figure out if it isn't, lol.

I had a Tekram MB that had about 3 different layouts for the pins listed, one in the manual, a different one on their website, and a different one on the board itself. I tried all of them and never did get the stupid LED working, lol.
