How do you run the fps test in Q3 demo? I'm assuming it's a combination of commands from the console...

I would also like to know that....
I guess it have to be in console but in guake 2 I needed the full version to run the tests.. The two were most famous "Crusher.dm2 and massive.dm2".And they needed to be downloaded seperately.
In quake 2 in comsole should be written..Timedemo =1, than crusher.dm2 or the name of the any other test file..
Did never try but it might be the same in Quake 3.(don't have it installed at the moment)
Would really like to see what the benchmarks will say for my system..

arghh can't quite remember I'll find out here's a site http://www.actiontrip.com/files/util/q3.htm
otherwise I think you type in at the console:
timedemo 1
demo 001 or demo 002 (can't remember whether there was a space inbetween or whether it's the right amount of zeros) HTH

At the menu screen (must be at the menu screen), bring down console with ~ key and type the following:-
timedemo 1 (hit return)
s_initsound 0 (hit return)
snd_restart (hit return)
Then go to demo menu near the bottom and select either demo 1 or 2
This will run it without sound to give a truer result.
Damn, hit wrong icon above http://www.pcmech.com/ubb/smile.gif

Since I do a lot of benchmarking for Max3D, I have an icon on my desktop that I added +set s_initsound 0 (this line goes after the Quake3.exe command). This launches the game without sound, for a true video test. Then it's like everyone said, hit the tilde, type timedemo 1 <enter>
demo demo001<enter>
After the demo, hit the tilde again to see the results. What kind of scores are you guys getting? I working on a review of the Prophet2 64MB (GeForce2), and it's getting over 105fps in high quality on an Athlon 840Mhz.
