I'd like to get a herman miller aeron computer chair because everything else I've sat in hurts my back. I need something with some really good lumbar support and I've never found a chair that fits my back quite like that herman miller aeron. my problem is the $$. I was wondering if anyone out there has back problems sitting in chairs (if you don't have back pain from a bad chair you just don't understand) and has found a good chair that costs less than $600. just thought I'd throw this out there before I go drop all that cash.

Well the best way around the $$$ is do what I did. Take one of the wife's favorite chairs and tell her it's the only thing that makes your back feel better. She'll eventually get sick and tired of you taking her good chair and agree to let you spend the extra money on something better. Not sure what to do if you don't have a wife.

i actually found the Leap Chair from Steelcase ( http://www.leap-chair.com ) to be the most confortable. unfortunately, its $750.
A good chair is going to cost good money. If you have back problems, then you are going to have to test chairs.
I just use a stock "executive" (high back) chair and added a heat/massage pad.

i find that its sometimes uncomfortable to sit at the computer with a normal chair. i just have a regular rolling chair that i can lean back on every once ina while. i dont have any back problems :) -yet

I've been using an old 1950's style chair that I picked up at an old high school when they were selling off stuff from it. I imgine it's about 50 years old, but it sure is comfortable.
I've got an office chair made by General Fireproofing called a "Goodform". Unfortunately, the seat is giving out.

Is you do get a chance, compare the chairs from this manufacturer, obus forme to the herman miller aeron computer chair [never heard of these]. If you're spending that much on a chair, you may as well check out all the options.
It may be easier to find a chair THEN have a table constructed for the computer. Then you wouldn't be limited to an office style chair!
