Is anybody else having problems navigating the forums? It took 10 minutes just to post this.
Probably another 10 minutes to submit.

lil jimmie,
I sure wish you would have said yes.
When I clicked on reply to answer you, I got up, poured a cup of java, came back and the page was still loading.
I must have a real problem with something. This is the only site I have the problem with.

Sorry Carl, I haven't had problems with the Mech in a long time. I hope you get it sorted out soon. If you are like me once you get it fixed three more problems will pop up.

Thanks fellas.
I'm at a loss as to where to go from here. Guess I'll start rechecking all my settings and maybe make some changes.

I'm having trouble on occasion, some threads load very slow or fail altogether, then they load fine, only on this site.

I'm having problems with the ad banner at the top.... Mozilla can't seem to load it anymore, I just get the hour glass constantly.

I reconfigured my router, checked settings, etc. There is still something wrong. If the page loads at all, it sometimes is missing some buttons or sometimes the right scroll bar.
I use IE6 and have the Privacy tab to block all 3rd party cookies. Since a page takes long to load, I can see all the ad cookies in the status bar trying to load one at a time.
I think I'll try to change the setting to accept 3rd party cookies and see if that makes a difference.

Funny thing - last week I pinged the server and it picked right up. There is a constant issue here with slow ad servers, but Opera will still load the rest of the page when this happens so it's no big deal.

Carl,
I had the same problem a couple month's ago. Each page took about 1 minute to load. Lasted for a week or two. Never figured it out. Problem just went away by itself.

My problem seems related to the ads. I also have problems with the pages not releasing out of IE, I go to another page and get a PC Media error when trying to access a different site.

Well, I'm back to square one. I didn't think I'd even get to post.
Right scroll bar was missing. I have to click the back button and then click reply again.
Did another ping of the site, but didn't help this time.

Carl, Ive been having all sorts of problems with PC Mech ever since the upgrade took place. I'm sorry to say that I am visiting less and less because of it. I know things have to change and be upgraded but at this point my frustration level exceeds my desire to participate. I guess like countless others I'll come around when I need help.

IE 6 does fine. Netscape loads a few banners, but no content. No biggie as it will keep her away from here. ;)

Just cleared everything out, started ad-subtract and browsed the site for 3 minutes. Checked ad-subtract and counted 53 ads. Perhaps the ads are causing a slow down for some. I don't use the software for PCMech, only this time for testing.
Right now this page is hung up at 56 out of 57 images loaded - it's stuck on "completed request to images-2.rydium.com".
David - get on the cases of the ad folks, their servers are causing all these problems.

Carl,
Like you I've been having lots of problems. Sometimes I can't get past the Home Page because it's taking ages for the ads to download.
I've had to use WebWasher to filter the ads. Problem solved.
www.webwasher.com
When the ad servers are improved, I will turn off the program (just for PC Mech) because I'm a nice guy (ha-ha!) and I know PC Mech needs the revenue from ads. Fair is fair.
However, every other site gets filtered from now on.
