I know for a fact that ALOT of people have the original Quake. I also know that there is an addon that optimizes Quake for 3D cards (GL Quake). I was amazed to find out however that not alot of people know about it or just don't bother to take a peek at it. Well I tried it about 2 months ago, and believe me... it is well worth downloading!
Light sources look much better, textures are more detailed, pretty much every aspect of the original quake was made better in some way or another.
Anyone interested in downloading the latest version of GL Quake must first of all have the "Full" version of Quake (not the downloaded demo version), and must have a 3d capable video card. That's it. That's all you need to get what seems like a brand new Quake. You can download it from here (http://www.quake3stuff.com/glquake/download.htm).
Anyone currently using it and anyone who downloads it and is surprised, please post and tell the rest of us about it!
Werd to your mother.
