I have a mobo that has "AGP Pro" on the system specs on the mobo box. I notice that the AGP slot is longer than my old BX chipset board. There is a little white bit of plastic with a sticker over it that says remove only if using AGP Pro. Sup? Don't get much concrete info on what AGP Pro is exactly when searching for info.

Hi AlwaysUp,

Basically, you'll probably be leaving that little piece of plastic right where its at. AGP Pro is a standard that gives more power (hence, the reason it is longer - more connection pins) to the graphics card. AGP Pro cards are really only used in graphics workstations and other high end applications. One reason being the price. From what I've read an AGP Pro card will cost you an arm and a leg. Most of the AGP Pro slots are AGP Pro Universal and are backward compatible with AGP 1x, 2x, and 4x cards. That's why the little plastic insert is in there, so you can still use the other AGP cards in that slot. HTH :)

To put it in simple terms
ATI RADEON 8500 128MB DDR RETAIL (AGP) =$225.00
ATI FIRE GL4 128MB DDR AGP/Pro =$1699.00

Yeah pretty damn expensive. Remember that guy who was building like two dozen PCs with dual ATI Fire GL4s for those kids? And then giving them away for free to the kids...

Please gimme the e-mail address of that guy. Perhaps he still can assemble one for me. LOL. :D
