I'm thinking about a Win2K or Linux TFC server but I don't know what the minimum HDD space is?

Hi,
Install size depends on what you want to do exactly. I've seen a Linux install that fit on a single floppy. Most server installs can be done under 800megs easily (that's with a gui interface). Much less if you run from the CLI.

hmm.... 4GB for Win2K? Pro not server? scratch that one off the list.
These really tiny Linux(right?) are they fully functional?I got a 9GB, 4GB, 6GB, and 2GB SCSI, I want to use some of them for OS's on "the big PC"(what I call my main PC) like Win2K, Win98fe, and Linux. However, I haven't tested the 6 or 2GB SCSI :( and I'm pretty sure the 2GB has bite the dut. I got a second 9GB, and second 2GB, but they won't boot properly  .

I guess it depends on what you mean by fully functional. If you are talking about having a fancy GUI then you are going to be talking about 250-500MB install. There are distros like that out there. Peanut Linux is one of them. I just installed Red Hat 7.3 and did a fairly complete install. It took up about 2.5MB if I remember right (I'm not at that computer right now).

Logan_85,
I did a install of 2k Pro without anything custom, and it was right at 995 MB.

oh, yea, win2k (pro or server) doesn't take up 4 gb's of space after installation... sorry. it requires 4-gig's for its operation.
