IP address on cable

When I had a cable modem my IP address stayed the same. At least I thought it did.
Now someone told me that on the new comcast system their IP address changes--"revolving".
could anyone explain this to me or give a web address that has the info?

The IP address is fixed so long as the connection is active. If your cable went out for a few hours, you could likely have a different IP address. You might try <a href="http://www.cablemodeminfo.com" target="_blank">Cablemodeminfo.com</a> for more info.

There's should be something about it here. Check the news and the Comcast forums for any info.

The address is DSL reports, but it has DSL/cable info.
