Okay guys...I don't get it. I reinstalled, and STILL have the same problem with Defrag & Scandisk telling me it doesn't have enough memory(something to do with cluster sizes?). I partitioned and formatted with the updated Microsoft files. I DID manage to fix the "not enough memory" to run DOS by changing the system.ini [VCache] section though.
Any idea what went wrong?

Thanks again!:(

try using just 512mb of your memory.

Sorry...I should have restated specs:
System:
AMD 2100+
Asus A7V266-E mobo
Radeon 8500 video
2 512GB Ram
2 Western Digital 80 GB Hds in RAID 0
This is sort of a continuation of my last post
"Win98SE Install w/ dual 80GB HDs on RAID0" or something like that.
PS- How would I check the current cluster size?

The memory itself is no longer the problem. That I took care of. It has something to do with the cluster sizes according to MS's product support artcle Q229154.

Are you talking about the files referred to here?, http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q263044
You may want to read an article here, ( part way down the page)http://www.overclockers.com/
that has to do with formatting 2 80 gig WD's
His fix was using Partition Magic.

Well if you have a problem with cluster size you would need to run
fdisk when asked during boot up answer yes to enable large disk support then you would need to reformat. But somehow I think you may have been told this although I'm not sure. Also before doing anything you would need to check you cmos setup and set hardrive detection to "auto" then hit enter. By doing this your allowing you cmos to auto detect the geometry of your harddrive.
You may want to wait for someone experienced to come over and help you before you go through a reformat and erase everything again.
Also I may very well be wrong my experience is limited when it comes to raid array's. My new raid board has been sitting in a box on my dresser for the past three months.

Wedor,
Yup..that was the article I was referring to. I was hoping not to have to buy the software, but I guess at this point it's the easiest. There's a computer flea market near me tomorrow, so maybe I can get a decent deal on it.
Thanks again all!

Oh that's right, Sorry I keep forgetting that Fdisk does not recognize over 64 gigs.

Finally got Win 98SE installed. the trick was to use "Format C: /z:64" to get the correct cluster sizes. Now onto "low resources" errors :)
