Hello all. I would like to download some mp3 music files and am looking for a "free" version website and program. Can somesone suggest a good web site for free music downloads?

I tried "bearshare" and it kept bringing up that dreaded "blue screen of death"! Someone said Audiogalaxy used to be good but no longer is?

please advise.

thanks,

God Bless,

Robert

audiogalaxy is alright... at least you get clean downloads. i use kazaa lite (because i can get more than just music), but i've gotta look out for viri.

Definately WinMX, everything else has spyware (which is bad).

thanks for your replies.
I just downloaded and installed WinMX and downloaded 1 file. It worked quite well. Thanks for advice. I'll try other downloads and see how they fare. I am on cable so downloads are quick (most).

Let's see how my computer handles it. I installed other programs and they were loaded with spyware and advertisments and seem to take over your computer!

thanks again.

God Bless,

Robert

Robert,

Run Ad-Aware after you remove those other programs to get rid of the leftover spyware junk.

DrZaius, Thanks, I downloaded and installed Adaware as you suggested. It found 24 files! Can I safely delete these files through the Adaware program without messing something up?

please advise,

God Bless.

Robert,

Yep, you can go ahead and remove them. Just to be safe, use the Backup feature to backup the entires in case the registry gets messed up somehow.

My collection of programs includes WinMX, eDonkey2000 (not very user friendly those new to this sort of thing), Gnucleus, KaZaA Lite, Blubster, audioGnome, and SongSpy. All of these are either already spyware free, or I use the hacked spyware free version.

AudioGalaxy used to be good, but then they got sued by guess who... the RIAA. Now they have filters in place to block all copyrighted material.
