Can some one please help me. On my case I have the usual wire connectors to attach the HDD, POWER LEDS and their switches to the motherboard. My question is, is the white wire regarded as the negative one when it is with a coloured one. I have a purple, orange and green wire and they are each paired separately with a white wire. Any help would be most appreciated.

The Power and Reset lead are not polarity sensitive and can be install any ol way.
On the speaker the Red is the positive and on the LEDs the colored wire is notmally the positive.

The 2 LED's are polarity sensitive so if they don't work, just reverse the plug, won't hurt anything to hook them up backwards other than they won't work.

Has anyone seen extension wires for these wires? My case power switch wire isn't long enough to reach the motherboard.

Just add some stranded, insulated like diameter wire. Splice it in preferably soldered, and insulate the joints. Do one wire at a time and you will be fine. I have never seen any extension or jumper to help in these cases, one must make their own.
