Just curious where everyone came up with your nicks from. I of course used to be a huge fan of the Ozzman, Mr. Osbourne. The passion has faded with age, but the nick has stuck with me. I make it sound like i'm very old, but only 25, hehe. Just not as much into music as I used to be.

I dunno, HAL9000 is a computer, seems like a logical geek name to me. I have another nickname and it stems from being the youngest in my family and my last name beginning with a "Z". So to this day, my friends still call me baby zee. Even have a personalized license plate on my car "BABY Z".

alacrity : (noun) state of joyful readiness
 A bit sordid. As a teenager, which, sadly, I haven't been for 18 years now - I played Dungeons & Dragons. My character's name was "Mothucker", which was an abbreviated version of something else, which I'll avoid mentioning  . "Moth" was just a further abbreviation that prompted fewer objections.
pstj is my initials.
Hey Moth, what class/species was Mothucker?

Well, back the first time when I played warcraft two on a LAN, the nick I chose was "Orcman" because I always played orc. Then I added a 2 to make "Orcman2" because I thought that was cooler. Then when I finnaly got internet access (AOL) my SN was Orcman2. Then after about a year of that, I got bored of it and didn't like having a number in my name, so I came up with Orcmonkey. So there ya go. Orcs from warcraft, and monkeys, cause hey, why not?

I used to stay up late with either reading , studying or working late into the dark with computers. So, moonlight is what I usually see in the night and 'burner' is I guess 'someone' who 'works' late into the night, like a candle 'burning' in the lonely night. It's of poetic meaning I guess:D

Back in my younger days, my friends and I would frequent a particular bar. Actually several, but this one more then the others. We had a running joke with one of the bartenders since I seemed to be able to consume more brew than the others. He bet that I couldn't put my head under the tap and drink the keg dry. My friends would all say "The Old Man can do it" and the bartender would always back down and buy us a round since he figured that would be cheaper in the long run. The nick just stuck since I was the oldest in the group by a few months.

My name is borrowed from the nave of a river CALMIUS ( also spelled KALMIUS ) from Ukraine. Believe it or not, but it's true. The city where I lived had a Ukrainian name DONETSK (sounds like don't ask) and the "state" or area was called DONBASS (which sounds like Dumb Ass) Really it means Donetsk Basin.
Now I live in United States.

Well, I was going to down to the LaCrosse Riverfest grounds, but right now it's pouring rain. So instead of wandering around and looking at all the pretty flesh; making fun of the wandering drunks; and paying $3 for a bottle of water, I'm sitting here, doing some long needed paper work and filing of my personal finances while rocking out to some T.S.O., a little Hornsby with the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, misc Classic Rock and Garth Brooks.
Flatt and Scruggs just started some Foggy Mountain; time for me to get to the point.
My "nickname" is actually Dok, but my forum name here...is...well...should be quite obvious. My full name is Matthew Allen Dockter. When my first rant on how people gripe at M$ for no educated reason got published here, I asked to be published under "M. A. Dockter" But since a lot of search engines ignore the periods after the initals and refer to me as 'MA Dockter" I've given up on using it except for here on the forums. I'm thinking of changing my name, especially after taking care of two requests this morning.

Back when the internet was beginning to become popular in the early 90's I needed a name that was unique so that I could remember it and use it at every site that I went to. I liked dragons so i used that, and because i was still a lil' kid i loved playing my nintendo and i thought it was better than any other gaming company, so i used "NOA" or 'Nintendo of America'. I followed it with a 1 b/c i thought it was number 1! Wow... i made that name along time ago but, it still works. Plus it would be a big hassle to go through every site and re-sign w/ a new nick and e-mail all my family members and co-workers and my mom's co-workers of the change. Just might as well keep it as it is.

It all started in second grade about 11 years ago. I was playing some DOS game on the SACC computer. Maybe Jeopardy? Maybe Tetris? I don't remember.
