View Full Version : What is S-video port in the Graphic Card

Can anyone help me. I bought a new graphic card which has dvi port, vga port and s-video port i wonder what is the s-video port use for, can we connect s-video port with TV via S-video cable, can anyone give me some explaination on what is S-vide port, and what is TV-out does S-video the same as TV out or is different or just a functionality in S-video port, can anyone give me some explaination.

It's used to connect to the S-Video of your TV to put the computer display onto your TV set.

Yes when they say TV-out they are really referring to the s-video out port. Some tv's have s-video in, so you would just hook it up straight thru. I believe you still have to have hookup from sound card to audio input to TV to get sound though. DVI is for an actual digital computer monitor, which are a bit more expensive but have really good picture!
