Just a thought about a free program that frees up ram...
been using it for a couple days now and it's nocked a couple hours off the work units for me, on the pc with 160 meg ram, but slows down the one with only 32 megs. the program is called "RAMBOOSTER" just wondering if anyone else tried a program like this before?

Very interesting!
I tried a utility called mem turbo (I think) a long time ago but was not doing any kind of distributed computing then.
If one can knock off even fifteen minutes consistently, a major advance has been made.
Tell us about your system, processor and ram amount/type and completion times. Is this machine frequently used to run resource/memory intensive apps?
If anyone else here has tried this please post also.

I just saw a previous post where you mention a celeron 466 w/160 meg of ram.
Are you still seeing the same kind of improvement after having run it for awhile?

well i took out 32 meg and put in old pc, now each seem to be doing better celey 466 with 128 meg is now nocking them off in about 12 hours compared to 13-14 each before i started rambooster. p2 233 with 64 meg is doing them in about 16 hours, well i thought it was helping the 233 but it is still taking a little longer, after this one is done will take off p2 233 and run a few and see if any different. it's taking the p2 around 17 hours now. grr would like to know how you do them in 6-7 hours!!
