My friend is looking into buying a newer video card for his system. What card would you guys think goes best with this system? I thought one of the GeForce2's would.
Here are his current system specs:
WinME(he's getting XP soon), K6-2 333mhz, Diamond V550 (16MB), WD 7.54GB HD, AOpen AX59Pro mobo

GForce 2 series are way out of date.
Go with a GForce3 and above or an ATI Radeon

Can his system even support a newer card?

I also don't think he wants to spend much on a powerful card that makes his small PC burnup.

It will, as the cards will work on slower AGP sets. If he doe not have AGP then the PCI cards will work.

Is the card an AGP or is it a PCI?

The best option would be the Vistiontek GeForce2 GTS-V, much faster than the TNT1 and only $45, it's a great solution until he gets a whole new system.

Most of those prices are after rebates, and TD has very bad service. I recommend sticking with NewEgg and MWave, NewEgg has a Gainward GF3Ti200 (good overclocker) for $120.

I have gotten a few things from TD and rebates have taken their time, but I did get them. Are those decent deals w/ TD. the video cards? which is best bang for buck?

Support the "good guys" here and buy from Newegg and/or MWave. They have excellent customer support, often replying to inquiries within a few hours.
What about the ATI OEM Radeon 7500 64MB DDR for like $60? They are under "Powered by ATI" in Newegg, MWave might not sell them.

Ok, I am going to go w/ newegg with the raedon. Can you tell me how much the difference is between the 7500 and the 8500LE ?
I would hate to get the 7500 if for a few more dollars would be a better value for the 8500 LE?
Thanks for the help guys.
