my tv suddenly just stopped working. it clicks when you turn it on but thats all. Could it be a fuse? What does a burned out fuse look like. I want to avoid high repair costs if it is something small.

First off, the fuse is okay.
Second, that TV could cost you your life if you go fiddling around in its innards. TV`s create and use (and store) very high voltages that have and can KILL. Repair cost would be about the 65.00 mark (WAG).

Toaster is right. The TV is not safe to try to repair. Sounds like the power on / remote on tries but their is very likely a fuse burnt out. Problem is that even if you replace the fuse it will just burn out again - possibly causing even more damage to the TV.

Fuses protect other parts from damage when another part breaks.
