How do u check a drives properties...

Hi all! been having probs with my HD, it was working fine b4, but now its acting weird.

basically i cant write or delete from the drive (i can but it comes back after i reboot the comp).

but i can read from the drive. everythign i have on there, i can access, with no probs.

so this has got me thinking, maybe it isnt a HD prob, but a security settings in Windows. is there anyway to check the drive settings. Like the dir's in the drive are checked with a / as read only. Im wondering that maybe somehow XP has made this drive read only.

Is there anyway to check the status of my drive? the drive that XP is installed on works fine - just my slave thats givin me probs

kinda sounds like you are set up a a user that does not have the permission to change anything.

try logging on as the adminstrator and see if you still have the problems.

actually my account is the admin account, but i do have 2 other accounts setup on the comp
