I can't run java based applets on-line without it on WinXP. And the link to this file seems to be extinct!

Yes, i think they pulled the MS VM because of instability issues. I think you can use the sun JRE in place of it though. Check it out at java.sun.com

Its not just instability, its also legal and licensing issues. M$ thought it could take any piece of code .. find out the longest way to screw it up and then slap on a (c) Microsoft tag onto it.

XP Service Pack 1 will restore the missig Java Support if MS ever gets it out.
