I just built a Duron 1.1ghz, BIOSTAR m7vkq mobo, a new 30gig harddrive and a dvd drive. I got windows 98se installation running on the brand new harddrive. Im using one 64mb stick of ram. I got a bunch of fatal exception at 0E errors that had things like configmg and vxd's while installing. When it finished installing I kept getting the same blue screens, and invalid page faults at kernel32.dll and everything. Safe mode ran well and tested the extended memory, but it gave me errors while I was in it. I've reformatted and reinstalled its still the same. Is this bad memory or something else?

Hi Netguess,
Make sure the hard drive is hooked up properly...red stripe to pin 1, blue connector to motherboard, black to master hard drive, grey to slave drive.
You might want to use the hard drive diagnostics to see if the drive is okay.
What kind of temps are you getting in BIOS? Are the CPU temps under 60C?
Is the power supply a good quality one of at least 250 watts?
I would try another stick of RAM.

THe harddrive is hooked up as primary master theres not slave drive. I've run the diagnostics it found no errors.
I monitored the cpu temp for about 2 minutes the highest I got was 55C.
Its 300w and AMD approved.
It must be the ram then so i'll buy new RAM later today
