hey everyone,

my friend was mentioning to me that when he insalls norton antivirus 2002 on his machine, it halts during the install and says there is an error on the page:
"unspecified script error at //c:\program%20files\norton%20antivirus\cfgwiz.exe /cfgwiz roadmap.htm"

the install won't go any further. i said i thought it might be a virus holding it up, and told him to go to <a href="http://housecall.antivirus.com" target="_blank">housecall</a> and try to run a virus scan through there. the computer he was using was not hooked up to the internet, but it's on a network with a computer that is (but that does not allow ics), so he shared his drive and ran a scan from the internet connected computer. the scan came up negative, but i think it might be not finding the virus since it's not run locally. what do you guys think?

It is possible, I ran into that with Norton where it couldn't find Monkey.B on a networked machine. Is it possible to remove that drive and install it on the other machine?

not without me going down there. my friend is not technically inclined at all, and it's like a 6 hour drive.

If that article doesn't fix it you could ask Symantec on their free tech help board. Go here type in anything such as install then hit go and you'll see the link to follow on the next page near the bottom.

Or try the install this way:
